Cognitive Behavioral

Therapy (CBT)

Providing CBT Online

Research shows that online psychotherapy, and specifically online CBT, is just as effective as therapy received in the therapist’s office.   CBT is one of the most effective treatments for anxiety and depression.  It is also an effective treatment for problems such as chronic pain, disordered eating, anger issues, addiction, and low self-esteem.

Now, you can receive evidence-based care from the comfort of your own home, free from the risk of transmission of COVID-19.  As a certified Cognitive Behavioral Therapist, I want to continue to be available during this difficult time, so I am still available by phone or online.

What is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy?

Cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT) is a practical, short-term, problem-focused and goal oriented form of psychotherapy.  With CBT people learn to identify, question and change how their thoughts, attitudes and beliefs relate to the emotional and behavioural reactions that cause them difficulty;  it helps people develop skills and strategies for becoming and staying healthy.

CBT focuses on the here-and-now—on the problems that come up in day-to-day life.  CBT helps people to examine how they make sense of what is happening around them and how these perceptions affect the way they feel.
