Meet Luz
Luz Esther Kyncl LCSW, HWC is a licensed psychotherapist, National Board certified health and wellness coach, public speaker, and author with over two decades of experience in mental and physical health and well-being. She earned her Master’s Degree in Social Welfare from the University of California, Los Angeles, her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the State University of New York at New Paltz, and her Health Coaching Certificate from the State University of New York at Purchase College and the Institute for Integrative Nutrition.

Luz is also a Diplomate and Certified Cognitive Behavioral Therapist (CBT) by the Academy of Cognitive Therapy. CBT is the only form of counseling treatment for anxiety and depression proven effective through scientific research. She is a mindfulness-based cognitive behavior therapist, an EMDR-approved consultant trauma therapist, a certified parenting educator, certified anger management counselor and a domestic violence facilitator.

Before becoming a health coach, Luz spent over twenty years working as a family and child therapist, helping adults, children and families suffering from mental, emotional and behavioral issues. Her focus now is not just on emotional and mental health, but also on physical and spiritual well-being. She is devoted to empowering women, individuals and families as they seek awareness, and provides the necessary tools so they can live happy and fulfilled lives.
Luz began her career in mental health as a social work intern in the Children’s Rights Program at Public Counsel in L.A., a public-interest law firm providing free legal representation to low-income individuals. She was a clinical social worker at L.A.’s El Nido Family Center, where she now serves as a Board Member as well as a family therapist and parenting group facilitator. Additional experience includes serving as a family therapist at Kedren Community Mental Health Center in L.A., a school social worker at the Herbert G. Birch Early Children Center in New York, a medical social worker at New York-Presbyterian Hospital’s pediatric outpatient clinic, and a family and child therapist and wellness consultant at Family, Adult and Child Therapies in L.A.

In 2013, as a certified health coach, Luz founded Salud Con Luz, with a mission to educate and empower individuals and families in order to improve their health through positive changes in diet and lifestyle.
